Dear Mark, Lori and all your staff:
At this time last year Elaine and I began the process of deciding on building our retirement home on property which has always been my summer home on Pt. AuRoche. The idea was to demolish a summer home where I had spent 43+ summers. All by itself that prospect was extremely daunting, and adding to that stress was the very real possibility that building a new home could easily become a nightmare. We are now in the final stages of the building process. The lawn was installed last week; the concrete work will be done soon; and the driveway is supposed to be paved next week.
The purpose of this letter is twofold:
1. To tell you how wonderfully easy your firm and employees made it to undertake this project; and
2. To express our deep thanks and appreciation to you and all of your staff, employees and subcontractors, for the kind attention and guidance we were shown throughout this process.
The work performed was exceptional. The time you and your employees were willing to spend with us making sure that our goals were achieved was remarkable. For a time, Elaine had daily contacts with Heidi to the point where, as the project drew to a close I was concerned that Heidi might have to go through some really serious "Elaine withdrawal". Kyle and Joanne and Kim were always available to answer our questions, no matter how simple those questions might be, and offer suggestions at times when we became confused as to the options available.
When we began the project you told us it would be started around the first of October and that we would be able to move in around mid-March. In fact the project was started on week ahead of schedule on 9-23-05 and we actually moved in on 2-20-06!!
The quality of the materials and the work performed was excellent. You always made it possible for us to meet with and talk to the companies supplying the various materials, furnishings and fixtures installed. This became really important especially with the detail that Elaine wanted in the kitchen and living rooms.
Thanks to both your and our efforts, our financial arrangements went smoothly and without a single hitch. That, in and off itself, is extremely remarkable given the manner in which house construction and financing is done these days.
All persons working for you, whether employed directly by LCHII or as a subcontractor, were attentive to our needs and respectful of our presence. It was clear to me that "your people" were very proud of the work that each did on our project and well they should be. Thanks to LCHII Elaine and I have a beautiful home in which to spend our retirement years.
Although I am writing this letter, I am speaking for Elaine also. Please share this letter with your staff, employees and subcontractors. We want them all to know how much we appreciate their efforts. And please feel free to use this letter in your promotional materials and to use us for a positive recommendation in the future.
Sincerely,
David L. Wood
DEAR MARK AND LORI,
THE ADVENTURE OF HAVING YOUR FIRST NEW HOME BUILT PUTS MANY
IMPORTANT THINGS ON THE BACK BURNER. THIS LETTER IS LONG OVERDUE AND WE APOLOGIZE FOR THAT.
THE FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT THING WE WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IS THE FACT THAT WE WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EXPERIENCE THIS ADVENTURE WITHOUT YOU. YOU MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO GO FORWARD WITH EVERYTHING BY REMOVING MANY OBSTACLES, ANSWERING MILLIONS OF QUESTIONS, EASING ALL OF OUR ANXIETY AND ULTIMATELY BY BUILDING A HOUSE THAT WE ARE VERY PROUD TO CALL "HOME".
WE EXPERIENCED A GREAT DEAL OF JOY AND ANTICIPATION WATCHING THE PROJECT GO FROM A WOODED LOT TO A BEAUTIFUL HOME. MARK, YOU HAVE GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND TO BE ATTENTIVE TO OUR QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS AND ALWAYS MADE US FEEL AS THOUGH WHATEVER WE ASKED WAS IMPORTANT TO YOU. A PROJECT AS BIG AS BUILDING A HOUSE REQUIRES MAKING SO MANY DECISIONS. YOU AND YOUR STAFF PATIENTLY GUIDED USTHROUGH THIS PROCESS WHICH REDUCED THE STRESS LEVEL CONSIDERABLY.
THE COMPLETION OF THE CONSTRUCTION IS A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT AND OF COURSE MOVING INTO THE HOUSE IS VERY EXCITING, BUT THE THING THAT MEANT SO MUCH TO US AFTER WE MOVED IN IS THAT YOU WERE STILL THERE TO REMEDY ANY PROBLEMS THAT EXISTED AND TO MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. IT HAS BEEN 14 MONTHS SINCE WE MOVED INTO THE HOUSE AND YOU ARE STILL AVAILABLE AND WILLING TO COME BACK TO HELP US OUT EVEN IF WE JUST NEED ADVICE.
WE LOVE OUR NEW HOME AND COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER EXPERIENCE OR A BETTER GROUP OF PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH. WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO HAVE LEE CUSTOM HOMES II BUILD ANOTHER HOME FOR US OR TO RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYONE THINKING OF BUILDING. IT WAS A VERY REWARDING EXPERIENCE THANKS TO ALL OF THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE THERE.
WE APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR KINDNESS AND PATIENCE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS. IT HAS BEEN A REAL PLEASURE DOING BUSINESS WITH YOU. MORE IMPORTANTLY, WE FEEL AS THOUGH WE HAVE MADE NEW AND VALUED FRIENDS ALONG THE WAY.
LEE CUSTOM HOMES II IS A CLASS ACT AND WE ARE EXTREMELY HAPPY THAT WE CHOSE YOU TO BUILD OUR NEW HOME.
VERY SINCERELY,
TOM & DEBBIE GUAY
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to you and your Employees. The process of completing our home in Morrisonville was an absolute pleasure due to the individuals on your staff. Each was extraordinary in the performance of their professional specialties. What was even more impressive to us was the manner in which they performed their skills on a daily basis. Each and every individual was friendly and expressed a desire to meet our personal requests. They had continuous willingness to accommodate changes and detailsÉand there were more than the usual of these! Being in the construction business ourselves, we recognize that a company's success is dependent on the quality of their employees. We wanted you to know that we considered the quality of your employees extraordinary. Our gratitude going out to all of you.

My heartfelt thanks for building me such a lovely home.
It was an enjoyable experience for me because of your patience and kindness.
It takes a lot of organization and hard work keeping such a large company running smoothly.
Fortunately you are blessed with a lot of talented people.
Thank you all,
Dorothy Sudds
To say that these last few months have been a challenge for me is an understatement. At times I have been so frustrated with myself, with my new house being built, my current home, my father, my mother-in-law and sometimes even my poor husband, Ed. So many times I have sat down and tried to write "thank-you notes" to everyone who helped us, sent flowers, sent food, sent cards of encouragement, (the list of gifts and thoughtful gestures is unreal) or called during mom's short illness and especially her death. Every time I try to tackle the list - I either get so emotional I walk away or at times I have literally made myself sick!
About a month ago, I went to my doctor because I really felt like I was going to have a breakdown - and - felt so guilty about everything that I did do, did not do and was supposed to do - I just didn't know where to turn. With Dr. Kilbourne's help, my Pastor's help and encouragement, I am slowly getting to the point that I can deal with mom's death. I have asked God so many times "why" believe it or not - he still has not answered me. (Ha!) So, almost four months after mom's illness and death I have promised myself I will acknowledge every gesture - in writing.
I'll never forget the look on mom's face when the doctors told her about her liver cancer. After they left the room, she turned to me and said "looks like I won't get to see the new house" - that statement just about tore me apart. However, like you and so many others have said "she can see the house now and she loves everything about it" - so this weekend as we move in - I know her spirit will be with us.
I cannot find the words to tell you how wonderful you were and still are. You have been so patient with me - and especially patient with my dad. He likes to go over to the house everyday. Every night he remarks how beautiful everything is - he really wishes mom could be here to enjoy the beautiful new house. She was always so excited about everything!!! The "guys" over at the house have been so good to dad. One day they even told me they were worried about him - he seemed to be "down". I appreciated that more than you/they know. Not only am I dealing with my feelings, - I'm trying to help dad with his emotions. Your words of support meant so much - I don't know how I can ever thank you. The plant you sent is just beautiful. Your thoughtfulness is/was and always will be appreciated.
So, here I am trying to find words to "thank you" for everything you did and have done. Well, the English language just seems so inadequate at this point in time.
So my friends, (my mom's angels) know that I will always care for you in a very special way.
In this letter, please know that my dad thanks you, my brothers thank you, my aunt (her sister) thanks you - as well as the entire extended family.
God Bless you for caring!
Sharry & Ed Schrader
P.S.: If I could give an award to (all) the workers that have built our house, I would! Everybody - the plumbers, the electricians, the carpenters, the carpet/flooring gentleman, every single one of them have been wonderful to work with. I have recommended you to anybody and everybody and will continue to educate the people in Lake Placid that Lee Custom Homes II is an awesome company to work with!!!!!!!!!!
I've been meaning to write this "thank you" for quite some time and this seems like a good time.
Recently I called Lee Custom Homes II because I had a problem with several carpets in our two year old house. Even though we were well past the one year warranty period, to my pleasant surprise, you quickly sent Jerry out to fix the carpets. How nice it is to have a builder who really cares about the satisfaction of his customers. Many times throughout the building process and after, we contacted you with various concerns and each time you made every effort possible to solve our problems. We really valued that. We love our new house and are very pleased with the quality of workmanship of your crews. Actually, we love our house so much we will be getting married in it this summer and will be very pleased to show it off to our friends and family.
Thank you Mark for our beautiful home and all of your hard work.
Sincerely,
Sandy Caswell and Bill Verity
There are no words to express our gratitude for all that you've done to help make our dream home a reality. From day one, we have truly enjoyed every step of the process. We cannot say enough nice things about your wonderful staff and the clarity and efficiency of your program. Each and every person involved in our project demonstrated a level of professionalism and pride in his or her work that was a joy to see. But most outstanding of all is the camaraderie and loyalty expressed over and over again. Wages don't buy respect and affection; those must be earned. Paul and I feel truly fortunate to have become, in a sense, part of the Lee Custom Homes II family. It is a relationship we will always treasure.

It has been four years since we began working with Mark and Lori Allen from Lee Custom Homes II. Our house had been on the market for a year and a half and we had no offers. We were expecting our second child and space was becoming crowded in our 900 square foot home. We were approached by Lee Custom Homes II with an offer to take our house in "trade" toward building a new home. It was a deal that we could not refuse! Our experience with them was nothing less than first class! We encountered only a few small problems and in all cases we came to a satisfactory compromise. We were so delighted with our new home that last year we hired them again to put on a small addition. To this day, if we encounter any problems, all we have to do is pick up the phone. They also helped us to prioritize the building phases and make our experience virtually worry-free! Our only concern was the fun choices associated with decorating.
We would highly recommend Lee Custom Homes II and their staff for a very rewarding building experience. They are a relief for today's hectic world!

It was 20 degrees below zero on a holiday weekend when we returned home from a weekend trip to find frozen pipes and no water. We had no idea who to call and in desperation called Mark and Lori Allen to see if they could give us a name of someone to contact. In their usual fashion of providing customer service beyond our expectations, they went the extra step! Mark called someone he knew and had him at our house in less than an hour.
You see, we were new to the area and had recently purchased our home from Lee Custom Homes II. Everyone, including the office staff (and our personal contact, Kelly Jarrard), construction staff, contractors and most especially Mark and Lori focus on customer service by delivering a quality product while adding a personal touch, which is in our opinion the essence of Lee Custom Homes II. The service they provide goes beyond building a home. Being new to the area we did not know who to contact for those everyday necessities like heating oil, firewood or garbage collection but Mark and Lori, and the office staff were there to assist us every step of the way.
As the former owners of two brand new homes it was a unique experience for us to find a builder who considers craftsmanship and customer service equally important. The bottom line - we love our home and most people say it is beautiful. However, aesthetically pleasing is not the only important thing and that's what makes Lee Custom Homes II different. Their homes include features considered upgrades by other builders such as extra support on the stairs, custom built closets and decks, spacious garage, maintenance free exterior and enough electrical outlets to plug in any appliance you own. The house proved to be warm and toasty as we experienced our first Champlain Valley winter. While we lack the knowledge to identify structural soundness ourselves, several of our friends who have building experience gave the house two thumbs up.
Building a house is one of the important and stressful experiences in life. If you are looking for a home that is well built with unique features, and a builder who truly cares about the houses they build and the people who live in them, we highly recommend Lee Custom Homes II.

In May 1994, I moved into a new home built by Mark and Lori Allen of Lee Custom Homes, II. I had worked with them for several months planning this house that I had been wanting for many years.
We discussed each room and no detail was too small for their serious attention. I knew what I wanted and even when the equipment or materials were not in use locally, Mark and Lori obtained them.
When construction began, September 1, 1993, I was made to feel welcome all during the process. Their skilled craftsmen showed me what they were doing and answered my questions thoughtfully.
I did not have an unlimited budget and so I needed to make careful choices. Mark and Lori helped me realize my unique home and still be able to able to afford it.
The total planning and building experience was an exciting and fulfilling one for me. I highly recommend Lee Custom Homes II to anyone considering building their dream home.

Dear Prospective Home Builder:
Deciding to build a new home has to rank with deciding to get married and what to name your first-born child. It isn't an easy decision and it certainly isn't the last one home builders face.
After deciding to take the plunge, perhaps the most crucial decision a home builder has to make is, "Who is going to build it?" We chose Lee Custom Homes II for several reasons; their positive "can do" approach to all phases of construction, the collection of the finest craftsmen and women in the North Country, demonstrated flexibility in adjusting to changes in plans, their concern for customer satisfaction and initiative to seek out, correct and follow-up on any concerns, and the knowledge that Lee Custom Homes II will be here in the future to address any possible problems.
Lee Custom Homes II built our first home. It was our "dream home" and consisted of a house, stable and riding arena. It really was our dream home because a lot of the ideas we had about the finished project were just in our heads and did not exist on paper anywhere. Mark & Lori and their superior crew somehow looked into our thoughts and saw the same finished product, because they created exactly what we envisioned. We honestly believe no one else could have built what we wanted, the way we wanted it, and enabled us to participate in and enjoy the process like Lee Custom Homes II.
The relationship we had with the men and women of Lee Custom Homes II was special from the start and continues even today. It was almost like our friends and neighbors were helping us build our home and we still remain in contact with many of the people who worked on our home. We derive a lot of security in the knowledge that Mark and Lori stand behind their work and will be there if needed.
I guess the real test of a service or product is, "Knowing what you know now, would you use them again?" Our answer is an unequivocal yes.
